What started out as a decision to race for fun quickly turned into one of the more exciting cyclocross battles is recent memory. Starting from the fourth row behind the juggernauts of the sport, Zdenek fought tooth and nail to quickly make his way through the mid-pack traffic. The race came down to an exhilarating last-lap duel between Zdenek, and defending World Champion Sven Nys. The two men traded attacks, and spills, as they battled for supremacy in the grueling mud.
