GT Fury 2013: Faster, better looking and with more models

GT Fury was first production carbon DH frame and got a good reputation in the racing scene with the success of champions like Mick Hannah, Marc Beaumont and Atherton family (Rachel also won the UCI MTB World Cup on this bike). Fury is one of the most wanted bikes out there, not just because of all the victories, but mostly because the advanced technology behind Independent Drivetrain. All models in the bike family share the same suspension platform, they differ in material and components.

GT Fury World Cup

Carbon missiles
GT Fury World Cup is simply said the machine for World Cup racing. It’s frame features F.O.C XM carbon construction, 210 mm of travel, 150 x 12 mm rear end and 1,5” head tube. F.O.C. XM is the strongest carbon in the GT’s range and is developed for the most brutal environment. For the World Cup tracks for example; the bike is also trusted by Gee Atherton, one of the fastest riders out there. Monocoque main frame works with full-carbon swing-arm, a feature that is still rear in the gravity. Fury World Cup is build with the best from Fox, Shimano, DT Swiss and Pro (with Pro Atherton series components), which makes it one of the best production DH bikes out there.
New for 2013 is Fury Team with same carbon frame, but with more affordable components. Team features Fox suspension, Shimano Zee drivetrain, e*thirteen cranks and Formula R0 brakes. With the smart selection of other component the Team really is a good value bike, ready for racing. Plus it looks amazing!

Metal brothers
There are three aluminum options available for 2013 season. These bikes are heavier than carbon models, but they are also much more in reach of an average mortal. At the same time they use the same suspension technology, so they ride as amazing. However, do not think of the Fury as just one aluminum bike, it’s frame is made out of XM Metal and with monocoque technology. This makes the frame super strong and reasonably light. Fury Alloy 1.0 is build with Fox 40 forks and mix of Shimano Zee and Pro components. Model 2.0 features SRAM’s build-kit with RockShox Boxxer RC forks and SRAM X7 drivetrain. Most affordable model 3.0 has SRAM X5 components, RockShox Domain R fork and Fox Vanilla R shock. They all have 210 mm of travel and proven suspension technology Independent Drivetrain. Alloy Fury is a great option for everybody that is new in racing or bike park fans.

Both carbon and aluminum Fury are available as frame-kits, so you can build them with the components of personal choice.
