		RIMS FRONT AND REAR SPECIFIC RIMS Front and rear specific rims offer stiffness and compliance characteristics where they are rewarded best, while front and rear specific rim widths are optimized for wider tires in the front and narrower tires in the rear.

HUBS SYNTHESIS 11 HUB Crankbrothers have exclusively partnered with Project 321 for the internals of the Synthesis 11 hub. 100% US made in Bend, Oregon, P321's innovative freehub design uses magnetic pawl action for low drag and super fine engagement.

		SPOKES SPOKES UNIQUE TO THE TUNED WHEEL SYSTEM Specific spoke counts, weights, and tensions are employed on front and rear wheels to enhance the tuned wheel system and riding experience. Synthesis wheels are built using the highest quality Sapim stainless steel spokes. Synthesis 11 series wheels are built with bladed spokes for further weight savings.

What is Synthesis?
A tuned and optimized front and rear specific carbon wheel system that addresses the specific performance requirements and loads of mountain bike riding.
A compliant tuned front wheel to enhance control and handling characteristics through increased dampening while maintaining the wheels contact patch. It “turns”.
The front wheel is balanced with a stiff tuned rear wheel. This offers directional stability, anchoring and responsiveness in handling at speed. It “tracks”.

Synthesis – Schiers & Bouwmeester
Jason Schiers has a long history in the bike industry and is a frontrunner in composite technology and application. He pioneered carbon rims for mountain bikes and started the era of strong and stiff carbon rims the market offers today.
Mello Bouwmeester, also having extensive experience composites, has more recently pioneered the new trend of wheel design that offers more compliance for better control and ride quality.
The synthesis of these two schools of thought is what Schiers and Bouwmeester bring to Crankbrothers. The new Synthesis carbon wheels offer the best of both worlds; an optimized wheel system with specific front and rear characteristics.
