GT FORCE CARBON: A NEW FORCE UNLEASHED [PART 2]
Let's take at the main features of recently introduced GT Force carbon that is now built around a new chassis with an idler-enhanced LTS design, rad geometry, and a progressive aesthetic.
KEY FEATURES
Ruckus Management
Integrated chain guide, custom chainstay and seatstay protection.
Added Adjustability
Dropout FlipChip provides +/-10mm of wheelbase and chainstay length.
Tube in Tube Cable Routing
Keeps lines of the bike clean while still offering effortless routing of cables.
Integrated Storage
Integrated Frame Storage on all sizes – take your spare tube, inflator and multitool WITH you, not ON you.
ABOUT THAT IDLER...
Proven on our World Cup winning downhill bike the Fury, our idler enhanced 4 bar LTS creates an optimized rear-wheel axle path for maximum bump absorption and control. It allows us dial in efficient pedaling, maximize traction and controlled braking under all conditions.
IMPROVED GEO
- Long reach and short stem for optimal steering
- Steep 78° seat tube angle for climbing, comfort and control
- Slack 63.5° head angle for descending good times
KEY UPDATES FROM PREVIOUS FORCE
- Lower standover and taller head tube for more control
- Longer rear end for stability and speed control
KINEMATICS
Axle path
Rearward axle path for improved bump absorption
Anti squat (pedal performance)
Increased anti squat across most of the gears for improved acceleration. 32:21 (middle of the cassette) from 69.4% to 72.8% and from 32:50 (climbing gear) to 79.2% to 99.7%
Anti rise (breaking performance)
- Increased anti rise from 60% to 70% for controlled braking
- Less dive at higher speeds
Leverage ratio
- Increased stroke from 55mm to 65mm to lower overall leverage ratio Introduction of pump zone
- A more constant rate at initial travel, improves “pump-ability”
- Increased usable progression from 10% to 12.5%
