Castelli Winter Collection – Keeps You Warm And Comfortable
Our choice for range between 3°C and 15°C are Espresso Due jacket, Sorpasso bibtight and Diluvio shoecover and gloves. But for the worst weather conditions you can still choose Sanremo thermosuit.
Espresso Due Jacket
In designing the Espresso Due, Castelli paid attention to even the smallest details to create the ideal blend of performance, fit, and style. It all starts with the 4-way-stretch Windstopper® X-Fast 2 fabric for total wind and water protection while allowing for excellent breathability. A soft mesh lining is essential for the insulation and adds extra comfort.
Breathability is further enhanced by the addition of two vertical zippers down the front of the jacket, and two more zippers extending up along the wrists, allowing you to close the jacket around the cuffs of your gloves for extra warmth. The flip-up Thermoflex collar is soft and fleecy on the inside. MP3 player pocket on chest and three rear pockets are big enough to hold spare tubes, gloves, and food, while two rear reflective tabs offer increased visibility in low-light conditions.
Sorpasso Bibtight
Sorpasso bibtights are the favorite piece among the Castelli test crew and the comments that keep coming up are the great fit along with exceptional comfort down to very cold temperatures or even when the thermometer rises.
The secret to the great fit is the mixture of Thermoflex Core Due along with our standard Thermoflex that lets Castelli create just enough stretch, but with enough support to keep everything in place.
The wide temperature range is thanks to the inner layer of Thermoflex Cure Due using hollow-core polyester for great moisture management and insulation. All that plus the Progetto X2 Air seat pad, Giro++ bib straps, and camlock ankle zips with reflective overlays.
SanRemo Thermosuit
Imagine being able to ride in cold weather with clothing that gives you the feeling of your summer-weight kit. With the product concept of the SanRemo SpeedSuit in mind, the Castelli engineers have unveiled a new way to dress warm and light for winter riding. There are no bib straps to restrict breathing, the seat pad is as good as the one in your best shorts, and lightweight materials do not feel bulky or restrictive. By joining the jacket and the tight together they prevent cold air from entering, effectively keeping you warmer with lighter-weight fabrics.
Castelli have put all our best technologies into this exceptional Thermosuit. Aerodynamic cut, Progetto X2 Air seat pad, and a mix of lightweight fabrics, including the Windstopper® X-Lite Plus fabric for total windproofness, and our warm Thermoflex Core Due fabric. By applying the technical advancement of hollow-core fibers, they have made the tights not only lighter than your normal tights but also warmer— and they keep you drier. Now you’re ready to put in those long base rides all winter long with the weight of your summer kit.
Diluvio Glove
This is your glove for cold and/or wet conditions. The Japanese neoprene is some of the highest quality available and this is what makes it so stretchy, comfortable and warm. The seams are constructed using the same technique as a wetsuit: the stitching is only on the outside, while the inside is thermo welded to make it smooth and completely waterproof. While the waterproofness is an obvious benefit in the rain, what’s not so obvious is how good this glove is in the cold. It keeps your hands warm with the same function as a wetsuit for divers. It is completely non breathable, so your hand sweats but that moisture is immediately warmed to body temperature and stays warm. Castelli figure it is better to have hands warm and wet than dry and cold, or worse yet wet and cold!
Diluvio Shoecover
The three milimeters Neoprene fabric will stand up to the wettest and coldest winter riding conditions. All seams are thermosealed for complete water protection, with cleat and heel areas open for stability while walking. The stretchy material easily pulls over your shoes while a Velcro closure prevents water from running down your leg into the shoecover.
