KED helmets do not appear on the heads of the main stars of the road or mountain bike racing scene, but this doesn’t mean they are not very innovative and high quality. They are all Made in Germany and build to highest safety standards, let’s take a look at some of the technologies behind the products.

maxSHELL® technology
The appearance of KED® helmets is distinctive due to a special design feature: maxSHELL® technology. In this manufacturing process, almost the whole EPS inner shell is covered by the outer micro-shell; even down into the ventilation openings (maximum microshell coverage).
> Completely covering: The EPS-shell The maxSHELL®-technology allows us to cover the complete EPSshell surface including the vents resulting in a technically advanced design of our helmets.
> Perfect craftsmanship: KED® helmets featuring the maxSHELL®-technology differ merely from the outward appearance compared to inmold helmets. Bonding the outer shell after the robot cutting guarantees precise edge execution with seamless transition.
> Downshell: Even the large downshell area known from the KED®-helmets is a result of our maxSHELL®-technology.

The outer shell is connected non detachably under the bonding process of our maxSHELL®-technology. The impact resistance of the composite provides increased elasticity compared to inmold helmets.

Adjustment systems
Test results keep confirming the excellent comfort and optimum fit of KED® helmets in international comparisons. KED® has developed an intelligent 3 point adjustment system for individually setting the fi t, which convinces users with its simple use. Adjustment steps 1 and 2 are only carried out for the initial setting if required. With the QUICKSAFE® wheel (step 3), it can even be readjusted when cycling.

QUICKSAFE®
With the QUICKSAFE® adjustment system KED® offers one of the best adapting systems available. The new version of the QUICK SAFE® adjustment system has been optimized again in detail. Its usability has been improved with new mechanics and improved ergonomics. The fi ne screening is now found in both directions and accidental over-winding cannot occur. Furthermore, the system is now smaller, which is especially advantageous with children’s helmets or ponytail hairstyles.
Additional features include a high quality reflector and a high performance flashing light with easy to replace battery/plate.
